Descriptions: |
| |
Edge to Edge: Large freehand or computer generated patterns quilted across the entire quilt-top ignoring blocks and borders giving a evenly finished quilt top which will wear well. This style of quilting quite economical and does not take away anything you have pieced from your quilt top |

Light Custom Work: eg. Very lightly quilted around your pieced or appliquéd work. It does not include stitch in the ditch quilting. This style of quilting can sometimes leaves your quilt with a very loose finish. eg. One border pattern and edge to edge inside the border. |

Custom Work: Quilting consists of the creation and sizing of coordination quilting designs in order to suit and fill your quilt blocks. Medium amount of stitch in the ditch. |

Heirloom: Heavily designed patterns, stitch in the ditch, feather work, multiple borders, small stippling, MacTavishing, and other more intricate techniques.. |
| |
Specialty Treads: Consists of variegated threads and some of the very fine 100% cotton threads. |

Tips for Preparing Your Quilt & Quilt Backing: |
| * |
Quilt tops should be pressed and trimmed of all loose threads. |
| * |
All loose seams should be stitched 1/8 inch from edge so as not to pull apart when been quilted. |
| * |
Backing should be 8 inches longer and 8 inches wider than quilt top –therefore being an average of 4 inches on all sides. |
| * |
If backing has been joined any selvages should be trimmed before hand. Please use 1/2 inch seam allowance. |
| |
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY please remember your backing fabric has to be that 4 inches larger on all four sides AFTER your backing fabric has been squared.

Tips for Choosing your Backing Fabric |
| * |
100% cotton backing fabric (but not entirely necessary) is best. |
| * |
Backing Fabric washed before quilting helps with thread tension on the back of your quilt and also allows piece of mind that your colour will not run when washing your quilt. Any shrinkage will also have been taking out of the backing fabric. |

When quilting we use the same thread colour in our bobbin as quilt top. If you wish you quilting thread to be matching the backing fabric, keep in mind what thread colour may be use on the quilt top. |

If you would like to view your quilting thread on the back of your quilt than choose a contrasting backing fabric to thread colour. Eg. — If you had a dark blue backing and were to have a edge to edge rose pattern quilted in a brown thread, this gives a rich view of the quilting on the back of your quilt. —– If you have very dense quilting than hiding the quilting thread by matching you backing fabric and thread colour as match as possible can be more desirable. |
